Retake QuizThe Honolulu Sword & Shield J2NF is what we recommend when someone wants a paddle that does everything well and doesn't break the bank trying. Excellent blend of power, control, spin, and hand speed — it covers all the bases. At $272.99, it outperforms paddles in the $350–$450 range that focus too hard on one attribute. If you want an honest, complete paddle, this is it.
Performance: Power: 8/10 • Control: 9/10 • Spin: 9/10 • Hand Speed: 9/10 • Feel: 9/10
| Paddle | Price (CAD) | Power | Control | Spin | Hand Speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Honolulu J2NF ← You're Here | $272.99 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 9/10 | 9/10 |
| Selkirk Boomstik Elongated | $459.99 | 9/10 | 7/10 | 10/10 | 7/10 |
| Paddletek Reserve HoneyFoam | $349.99 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 8/10 | 8/10 |
Bottom line: The J2NF gives you the most complete game at its price point. The Boomstik is $187 more and trades control and hand speed for raw spin and power. The Paddletek HoneyFoam is similar in feel but at $77 more with a softer, more dampened response. The J2NF is the value win.

How is the J2NF different from the J2NFK and J2NFT?
The J2NF is the standard carbon fiber version — the benchmark of the lineup. The J2NFK has a kevlar-reinforced face for a softer feel. The J2NFT has a textured surface for extra spin. If you're unsure, the standard J2NF is the starting point most players are happy with.
Is the Honolulu J2NF good for beginners?
It's technically fine for beginners, but at $272.99 it's better suited to intermediate players who already have some consistency. Beginners would be better served by the Alpha Meta at $99.99 first.
